This monograph aims to examine the media behaviour of the public towards the world’s largest entertainment empire, The Walt Disney Company, and at the same time to analyze how the media giant responds to the needs solicited by the masses.The volume also aims to understand and analyze how sociological phenomena such as gender, feminism and ethnicity have been addressed, over the decades, in Disney’s works, and how these concepts have been introduced and have transformed, in general, in media fruition.


Maria Saccà is a Florence-born film critic and writer. She has published the monograph Tom Hanks – Un attore tra le storie (“Tom Hanks – An actor among the stories”).
